| Borgogno Barolo Riserva 1971. A lot of sediment! Ruby color with brick colored edges. A funky smell of tar at first, the nose reached its peak 24 hours after opening the bottle. Very smoky, fine aromas of squashed plum, cherries, ginger, hibiscus, leather and dark chocolate with caramel. Very consistent, elegant and youthful on the palate, a lively acidity gave it a perfectly long mature nebiollo finish. Excellent. Greetings from Maribor! Tomaz Klipsteter | |||

| Many thanks. I don't think I've ever tried a Barolo that old, but it certainly is inspiring to read about! | |||
