| RIESLING SPÄTLESE 2001 Qmp, Lieserer Schlossberg, Erzeugerabfüllung, Porta Nigra, Germany, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. It seems recently to have turned a corner toward the slightly maderized, which isn't at all unpleasant, but I don't know enough about this wine/region/vintage to know if it has a decent future. I have a passive cellar, which keeps things about as well as anybody else's, from what I've read here. Thanks in advance for any guidance, Pat | |||

| but 2001 was just so ripe and so well structured with acid, that rancid maderized notes sound like poor storage.. Perhaps someone with more specifics can say.. | |||

| the Moselland cooperative. Its wines are, in my experience, definitely styled toward immediate enjoyment and not the long term. I'd have to taste the wine in question to go any further with advice, as the 2001s are definintely going into adolescence right now. Best wishes, John | |||

| There are only a couple of bottles left, so I won't hoard them. Pat | |||
