I went to a tasting of 14 top 2000 Bordeauxs in Los Angeles once--all the 1st Growths were included. Those who tend to drink more California cabs voted the two sweetest, ripest-showing wines 1st and 2nd, Pavie and Lynch Bages. Those of us who regularly drink more Bordeaux--at all levels--had those same two wines in last place.
