Not the wine, the article. They are basing their judgment almost entirely upon how enjoyable the wine is to a comsumer right now. Surely they know that wine like this is at its best years, maybe decades, after release, goes thru dumb stages, etc. and that any comparison during the first ten or so years - while it might be good for the bulk of wine sold in the world - is no way to judge Bordeaux.
For me, the first growths are not worth it. I don't think I can wait them out. I don't want to wait them out. But it is still a lousy way to judge the wine. The article proves nothing.
