Subject: Precision on Renardat 2004 Bottlings
View Parent message
I visited Renardat yesterday and here's the information promised several posts down on this thread:
The first bottling is 90% Gamay and 10% Poulsard. The Lot number is printed on the bottle -- L042.
The second bottling is 50/50, more or less. The Lot number is L043.
The Lot number is not actually printed on the label, but is somehow etched. You have to hold the label up to a light to find the number. Honestly.
Alain told me that the Poulsard is initally reductive and requires a few more months of ÚlÚvage before he does a 50/50 bottling. This bottling is only available in America and at Alain Chapel's restaurant in Mionnay.
They now have the right to put the vintage and will probably do so in the future.
