2004 Alois Lageder Alto Adige Lagrein Rosé: A really tasty pink wine for a hot summer, and a fitting replacement for the Donati Lagrein Rosato from 2002 that we've been drinking off and on for the last couple of years, and which was rapidly drying out. Deeply colored, it combines watermelon and raspberry fruit with that characteristic meaty savor I've come to associate with this grape. Not a trace of minerality, and it's probably just a shade off of bone-dry, but there's structure, and even a touch of green lurking in there too to keep everything on the right side of the gob line. About $14.
